This month, one of our team members, Jordan, traveled to Osaka, Japan for a four-day vision trip. The purpose was simple yet exciting: to explore how SkateMin Asia can bring hope, community, and the message of Christ to this incredible city through skateboarding.
Praying Over the City
During his time in Osaka, Jordan visited multiple skateparks, soaking in the local skate culture and praying over the people and neighborhoods. These moments of prayer are a vital first step in every new ministry effort, reminding us that God is already at work long before we arrive.

Building Kingdom Partnerships
A highlight of the trip was meeting with church planters in the area who share the same heart for reaching youth. Jordan also spent time with Tetsuya, a Japanese skateboarder and pastor. Tetsuya runs a skateboarding ministry that teaches kids both how to ride a board and how to follow Jesus.
Jordan joined one of their events, witnessing firsthand how powerful this kind of ministry can be.
The two leaders shared conversations about future partnerships, dreaming together about how ministries could collaborate to impact even more youth in Osaka and beyond.

Sharing the Gospel on the Streets
Jordan also took time to connect directly with skaters at one of Osaka’s most popular street spots. There, between kickflips and conversations, he shared the hope of the Gospel with skaters who might never hear it inside a church.
Why This Matters
Trips like this remind us of the bigger vision of SkateMin Asia: using skateboarding as a bridge to bring love, hope, and transformation across Asia. Every skatepark, every city, and every skater represents an opportunity for God to move.
We believe Osaka is one of those key places—and Jordan’s trip is just the beginning.
